Climbing - Natural Surfaces
Guide - Single Pitch (Lead)

An outdoor activity, consisting of climbing a natural (non man-made) structure. Participants in this activity are protected from falling by use of a system of ropes and safety devices (known as a belay system), where the rope is generally below the climber and the climber attaches the rope to connection points (protection) as he/she ascends the climb (A Lead climb). The length of climb is no greater than the length of one rope (normally less than 50 meters).

Units provide credit towards Cert IV in Outdoor Recreation (SIS40310)
Course Duration:
Maximum of 6 months from commencement
Entry Requirment:
HSC (year 12) or a mature background
Note:
HLTFA301B Apply First Aid is a pre-requisite for all courses
